How Can I Help

WHY WE ARE SUPPORTING THIS CAUSE?

From October 9-11, 2009, the Raritan Yacht Club in Perth Amboy, New Jersey will be hosting the third annual New Jersey Hospice Cup which will benefit the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, which provides resources for 30 non profit hospices throughout New Jersey. Last year we raised more that $ 40,000 for these groups.

Why We Need Your Help

Many hospices provide free care and reduced-fee care for many uninsured patients and families.   Some hospices can do so only through charitable contributions.  The New Jersey Hospice Cup will raise funds to encourage hospices to provide more free care and make the community more aware of the benefits of hospice services.

What Is Hospice?

Hospice helps terminally ill patients -- and parents, spouses, children, neighbors, employers and friends --  with emphasis on improving the living time.  Teams of medical professionals and trained volunteers work with patients and their families to provide hospice care in their homes or home-like settings.  The need for this care is increasing as our aging population grows. 

Hospice is the only form of care that provides such a full range of services to both patients and their families, tailored to their needs.  In addition to symptom control and pain management, hospice offers psychological and spiritual support -- and assistance with day-to-day living -- for both patients and others involved with them.  Hospice is also unique in offering professional bereavement services such as group or individual counseling and children's programs. 

Hospice care is intensely valued by those who know about it.  For others, it is crucially important to learn what hospice does.  Your involvement at any level will publicize both hospice care and your commitment to the families of New Jersey when they need your help the most.

EVENT SPONSORS

Includes name/logo on sails of one of two featured match race boats, name/logo prominently displayed at clubhouse, 10 spectator passes for Friday’s outing, prominent full page ad placement in Regatta Ad Book. (Can be Co-op advertising)

THE CAPTAIN $10,000

Includes name/logo prominently displayed at clubhouse, 5 spectator passes for Friday’s outing, prominent full page ad placement in Regatta Ad Book and naming rights for the Hospice Cup Open.

THE TACTICIAN $5,000

Includes name/logo prominently displayed at clubhouse, prominent full page ad placement in Regatta Ad Book and an on-the-water outing to watch Friday’s match races from spectator boat (seating limited to 2 people).

THE TRIMMER $2,500

Includes full page ad placement in Regatta Ad Book and an on-the-water outing to watch Friday’s match races from spectator boat (seating limited to 1 person).
